Eric Greenwell says my muffler heat shield timed out at 120 hours, so I replaced it then. When the fellow in England had his fire and a muffler leak was suspected, I wished I'd changed it out much sooner. Even with the insulation, I don't think the carbon fiber shields would resist an exhaust leak as long as the steel one.
