Guide to Self-Launching Sailplanes by Eric Greenwell. The link takes you to a page with more information and the link to the PDF document. If you haven't read this before, now would be a very good time.
These links go ASH 26 E Technical Reports items that can have a direct effect on safety. They are listed here to make it easy to find them.
A special thanks to Eric Greenwell who developed the majority of the content ported to this site.
A tip of the hat to Marc Arnold who allowed the ASA to gain permanent control of the domains motorglider.org and motorglider.com
Article describes the installation of PowerFlarm. Mainly focussed on the older portable 'brick' flarms. From the supervisor experience these are fickle. Article need to be updated with details about the PowerFLARM core and the PowerFLARM Fusion
The site contains reports by owners and other parties of their experiences with technical issues related to the Wankel-powered Schleicher sailplanes. As of October, 2020, that includes the ASK 21 Mi, ASH 26 E, ASH 30 Mi, ASH 31 Mi, and ASG 32 Mi.
These reports are not necessarily accurate, complete, or made with any manufacturer's approval. Information obtained here should be used with information from the manufacturer of the particular component and other authoritative sources, including the regulations applicable to your aircraft, when deciding on a course of action. You may read our disclaimer here.
It is also important to note that the Wankel-powered Schleicher sailplanes have evolved over the years from the introduction of the first model (ASH 26 E) in 1994, particularly for the propulsion system, and what is reported for one glider may not apply to another glider.
The "ASH 26 E Technical Reports" web site use policy
The intent is to keep the "tech site" a bit more private than the ASH 26 E discussion group to allow a more open communication among the owners. The group intentionally serves a broader audience, including prospective owners. Generally, these are the people eligible for access to the "tech site":
While we might make exceptions on a case-by-case basis, please do not give access to other people; instead, have them contact the group for access.
Of course, you can answer questions based on information on the tech site. Some sections can be printed and given to interested people, such as the "Buying or Selling an ASH 26E". These sections will be marked so you know it's OK. For other sections, please ask the author of the page, or ask on the discussion group.
